The city of Apeldoorn set up a study group to check whether the city has to apply anti-agression cameras to stop violence.

Apeldoorn, 12 January 2007

The city of Apeldoorn is enthusiast about the effort of so-called clever cameras. That turned out last Thursday during an assembly of a commission about security cameras.

The city had set up a special study group, which has to check whether Apeldoorn has to place the cameras to oppose violence and aggression. Clever cameras react upon fear-expressions, yelling and cries coming with violence. When deviated sounds are measured, the cameras will be activated. The police is informed as well.

Meanwhile, the study group visited Groningen to be informed about the results of the usage of aggression-cameras. The study group is very enthusiastic about the cameras.

A Dutch political party, the SGP, encouraged the city to hurry the placement of this kind of cameras. According to Chairman Van den Berge the cameras can be set in the new railway tunnel which will be opened in the coming year. Mayor De Graaf reacted positively on this proposal.
